Citroen are bringing back the 2cv, they have just released some teasing photos. Looks strikingly retro, I like the idea of this.

Following the success of retro stuff like the Renault 5 remake! get the price and power (presume electric) right and it will sell.

Renault have hit on something with the 4 and 5 electric. Hope the 2CV is as good.

VW have missed a trick not having a GTi MK1 electric.

I imagine this will be a mk1 Dacia Spring-alike to keep with the back to basics ethos of the original. Very interested to see how it turns out

It will probably be massive

It will probably be massive but the price looks affordable.

Ah no that should be restored for the sentimental value alone

An ideal town car if the price is as low as they predict.

Damn.

Citroen exited Australia a few years ago. I wonder if I could privately import one somehow?

Sounds cool but think I’ll wait for the Ford Model T electric

What has this site become?

Can I have a photo of your Mrs?

No she's rotting in the garden!

Oh I saw a proper one yesterday...it was painted matte grey, jacked up on chunky off road wheels and tyres, and I am sure it had a snorkel on it...it looked fabulous..!!!

When I was a kid in the 80's I used to wonder with amazement at every new car that was released - every one more exciting than the one before, each one making the old version seem instantly old fashioned. It's so sad that the only way we can get excited by a new car now is if it is a call back from 20, 30, 40 or 50 years ago - it's as if we have resigned ourselves to the fact that nothing new can be remotely interesting. If in 1986 a manufacturer produced a retro modern car from the 50s, everyone would have laughed and ignored it.

I'd love a new R5 or an electric 205 GTI or AX GT or whatever comes next but it's a sad state of affairs. Is there any other technology so depressingly unable to excite?
