992.2 GTS Values
Discussion
What are the opinions on the values of the 992.2 GTS T-Hybrid? I know reviews have been mixed and it's a new concept, I wonder will it ever be a well loved variation? I can certainly see the appeal in the outright performance figures.
But 18 month old £160K new cars are now at £120k retail, 2026 £158k models with 2000 miles are £125k so £35-40k loss in values. And what will you be offered as trade in? Is this acceptable? Is anyone buying new at full price or are dealers knocking off at least 10% to generate interest?
What is going on, they just seems massively overpriced starting at £144K before options.

Stick some reg numbers into WBAC or Motorway, that'll give you a sense of trade bids right now. If you want to see what future 'worst-case' values might look like... on the Porsche approved used car listing hit the finance option and look at what the final payments are after 2/3/4 years, these are the values PFS are underwriting, and they won't be far off.
I don't want to sound like I'm talking down the GTS, it's a very accomplished car and you could argue with the performance on offer it is a used bargain compared to the new Turbo S but the values seem all over the place and are now crossing over with the .1.
2000 mile cars which are already £35-40k off list.
A webuyanycar entry is good advice so you know the real value before you are considering buying.

The GTS is usually the sweet spot, but I've seen these sitting in showrooms specc'd up nearing £200K and I have to ask myself who is buying that at that value. The reality is they're being discounted and the values are dropping, I suspect people who would usually buy a GTS want pure ICE and the car is just too good and compliant now.
How do values compare to ICE variants in terms of depreciation by % loss, that will show if it's similar, better or worse.
Given Porsche have said they'll be a 20% hike in prices which I assume will only happen when the .2 gets replaced then I'm guessing this will slow depreciation between now and the next generation, and then possibly level off, or increase once the replacement higher priced car is launched.

Value going forward may be supported by Porsches statement they are reducing production numbers and increasing cost of new cars over next 5 years. The inflation that Porsche has applied to the 911 over the last 5-10 years definitely hurts. If I were in the market for a car at that price I would probably go for a 992.1 Turbo rather than the GTS. Either way I don’t think you can go far wrong. Just sold my 991.2 GTS after 8 years of ownership and 50k miles. Great car and got back over 60% of the price when new. I would definitely get another 911.
