How close are we / europe to civil war / Mass unrest?
Discussion
As per the thread title, what's people thoughts on this with regards to recent events and videos that are circulating in the UK and abroad?
Using a "DEFCON" scale of 5 - 1, where do we currently sit and where do you think its headed? (5 being low chance, 3 being minor scuffles in the streets, 1 being full on rioting)
Were seeing major unrest at ports in the UK to prevent illegal immigration, We've already had rioting in Ireland earlier this year. Parts of France are on fire due to "student" protests & Belgium is now seeing the same. Mass invasion of Migrants in Ceuta in Spain. Palestinian protests marking the 3 year anniversary of the Hamas attack in Israel. These are just some of the issues going on.
To me It feels like Europe is a powder keg ready to go off. Can the politicians not see this or are they just so far into the multicultural experiment that they feel they have to double down at every turn? Is there a way back from where we are at now or is mass unrest imminent?

I thought it may have kicked off in the Summer with the insane heat, but it didn't.
The more I think about it, the less likely it is to happening.
Getting away from the algorythms and into the country or the coast, you can hear the dissatisfaction people have with the way things are, but we're a world away from mass unrest.
Same if you go to rural France, it's a world away from rioting students in Paris or some other French cities.

Bloody Americanisms. What was wrong with BIKINI, eh? Anyway we're at White or Black Alpha.
There is no chance of mass civil unrest. We've got a few mindless, gobby yobs kicking off occasionally and if they ever threatened anything more than a chip shop window they'll feel the full, crushing weight of the rest of the country.

You won't be asking that when you see me in mine. There is no chance of mass civil unrest. We've got a few mindless, gobby yobs kicking off occasionally and if they ever threatened anything more than a chip shop window they'll feel the full, crushing weight of the rest of the country.

They're not 'major' by any stretch of the imagination. Protest has long been a thing; Suffragettes in the early 1900s, Miners in the 80s, Iraq War in the early 2000s... More farmers participated in the protest last year in London over the Family Tax thing than have protested at ports and immigration detention centres combined by many orders of magnitude.
The only difference is we see everything that goes on today, everywhere as it happens via 24hr news channels and social media. This gives the perception of things being far worse than is actually the case.
Sometimes protest gets things changed, sometimes it doesn't. For most part, people let off steam, points are made and life moves on regardless.
There's certainly a 'fug' in the air and the world isn't a nice a place as it could be at the moment - but for the most part, people just moan about stuff on line and get on with their lives.
So, no, we're not facing a European Civil War or mass unrest.

Most people have too much to lose to go off rioting. And they’ve come down disproportionately harshly on right wing social media posts and protesting to set an example and as a deterrent.
I can count the number of people I know who aren’t concerned by the quality and level of immigration on two fingers - one of those would have no borders and no immigration controls at all and is, frankly, mentally ill. And the other lives in a self-imposed bubble. Everyone else ranges from ‘what the f
k is going on’ to outright detesting a certain group of people - they’re not even subtle about it any more. But none of them would do anything beyond voting Reform or Restore at the next election.
It amazes me how laissez-faire some people on here are towards these issues. Although, to be fair, if you’re in London the multiculturalism does work and if that’s all you saw you’d probably not see an issue. Live near Bradford, Huddersfield, Dewsbury and the like and you’re likely to think very differently.
Anyway, I’m going with whatever number correlates with ‘highly unlikely’ in answer to the question.

The algorithms do a great job of reinforcing fears and opinions people already have.
Social media is a s
tshow and the world would be a better place if it had never been invented.
And also manipulation, gas lighting and propaganda by various actors some governmental Social media is a s
tshow and the world would be a better place if it had never been invented. Part of why the advance of AI generally is troubling - for one thing it's commonly used to serve these agendas and then circulated on the socials.
Although I do enjoy when it's used to debunk propaganda and conspiracy theories (like the Grok vs Maga instagram account).
