It's a helpful volunteer creation scheme. See it loads on Epsom Downs especially in the car park that has the London skyline view. Louts drop it in the evening and well meaning nice people come and pick it up in the morning. Win win I say.

Take a look at a last train on Saturday night. You're guaranteed to be no more than 10 paces from a bin but that's too much like hard work.

KFC does seem to be the choice of the lowest common denominator.

I'd personally like to see all fast food restaurant car parks fitted with a missile battery that fire at will on anyone littering within them.

I have the Weymouth Beach webcam bookmarked (I know), yesterday there was a motocross event on the beach, quite a few spectators. In the evening, after it was all over, a number of people were going along the front picking up the rubbish - completely unnecessary, there are a number of rubbish bins just a few yards away. The lazy spectators couldn't be bothered to walk a few yards and put their rubbish in a bin.

I don’t think it’s laziness or “don’t care”; it’s a deliberate contrived nonchalance or a way of saying “fk you” to society at large. Round here there’s also an issue with a certain community (see demographics thread) just throwing rubbish out of the car on the move. It’s very deliberate, very obvious and I reckon it’s simply done as a statement of power or intent: they can do what they want. You wouldn’t believe how often you see it.

Didn't mcdonalds say they were going to start printing the reg number onto the food bags to help crack down on this?

I used to live just off the A25 where the nearest Maccys was 6 miles in one direction and maybe 10 or more in the other.

I'd often find left overs and packaging in the gutter or strewn across the path.

It was a 60mph road back then and quite twisty. Some effort to be eating at speed and managing to chuck it out of the window.

I would print the entire card payment details on the wrappers. PAN, expiry date & account name.

It's a shame there wasn't a powerfully built PH company director to throw this rubbish back through their window.

Top tip: Always carry long cable ties to secure a shopping trolley to someones door handles/grille if they litter or park badly.

This really gets my goat,
My 3 nearest McD’s are all half hour drives in different directions, which unfortunately seems to be the time it takes for folk to eat whilst driving…..

If I order via app I think my receipts says “Andy”.
I’d love drive through orders to routinely put the reg number on too.

Remote area though so timestamped receipts I can usually figure out our side toad offenders on cctv which vehicle is likely, however I don’t go vigilante & usually forget about them after a week or so of not seeing the vehicle again.

We did successfully years ago get the police to follow up a litter lout through his bank information - he’d emptied his car out in our “beauty spot” car park.

It is strange being remote with limited options, I’ve seen me get a chip supper in say one village & eat whilst driving , at the point I’m finished & putting box/bag in my passenger footwell, the roadside starts to appear heavily littered, as others clearly finish around the same point.

It has coincided I think partly with the councils stopping having bins in lay-by’s, (these used to be filled with trade waste like paint tins after the councils started charging them for going to recycling centres)

The problem would be cured overnight if the company providing the future litter was fined for every instance of said litter not being in the correct place.

I think there is a direct link between the kind of person who sees McDonald's or KFC as 'food' and the kind of person willing to litter. I suspect that link is a very low level of intelligence.

Me too, and them make the little sts do a day of litter picking preferably in the rain (As it's the UK it probably would be). Won't do it again then.

The picture the OP posted looks like a car park, surely there are cameras?

As someone said Maccies rubbish seems to get everywhere even miles away from a maccies.

There always seems to be slimy, faded pickles discarded in McD car parks. I'm not sure what is more irritating, the fact that they are just dropped there or that some people don't like them.

Peasants either way.

It's also the fact that they are too thick to ask for "no pickles"! biggrin
