Mondeo 1.6 ecoboost petrol 2013 issues

Hi, new on this forum. We have a 2012 petrol Mondeo Ecoboost 1.6 turbo. We've had it for 3 years, now done around 115K miles. It has started to have a problem, not always starting. The electrics come on but the car won't start. As I say, this is not consistent, most of the time it will start but it is becoming unnerving. We took it to a garage, they said the problem was behind the dashboard which would need to be removed, with the cost to fix around £4-500 pounds to repair. This is not economically viable for us.

Do any of you experienced and knowledgeable people have an idea what the issue would be?

My Fiesta ecoboost had an intermittent starting problem. Ended up being the starter motor.

Thanks for your reply. Did your electrics still work? It is causing us some frustration!

Yes. Local indy replaced battery then something else but gave up so I went to the local Ford Dealer who diagnosed it straight away.
