I've been using Yahoo for emails for about 25 years, have two addresses, one for personal stuff, one for stuff just relating to the house/utilities.
Over the last week , the format/display has changed, it's neither clearer or easier to look at or read the messages and some of the other options relating to spam etc seem to have disappeared.
Any one else found this, is it time to use a different email provider (outlook or gmail) or can i revert to the old layout?

I am a copy/paste of yourself biggrin I've spent 26 years using two Yahoo accounts (personal & spam) and absolutely HATE the new layout some presumably <25yo hipster dude straight out of university has designed and the befuddled boomers in charge have signed off without ever using it.

Who the sodding hell wants to open their Inbox, the MOST IMPORTANT bit of anyone's email programme, and then wants half the unread emails in there to be automatically hidden because they're not considered as "primary" by Yahoo's programmers BEFORE you've even seen them and can choose for yourself, forcing me (1st world problems I know biggrin) to have to open my inbox, and then click on the "All" tab because thats not the default one and can't be altered.

Sometimes I absolutely despair with the "enstification" of modern life where tech "should" be making everyone's life easier but is instead making the simple things much worse with no option to reverse or request from the customer to change things in the first place.

If I didn't have so much of my life online linked to these two addresses I'd quit Yahoo in a heart beat, but 26 years of being on the web means there's literally hundreds of things I don't even remember signing up for but are still useful in the background (logins to forums etc)| and only remind me to resubscribe etc via my yahoo account ,so I'm kind of stuck sadly, as starting a whole new "internet life" with a new set of emails whilst also keeping the yahoo ones open in case an old thing suddenly pops-up already feels draining before I start!

Was going to start a new thread about this.

It is seriously annoying me at the moment.

The separate folders don't always seem to display the emails as I have missed some recently.

Plus I have noticed that if I start an email and need to switch screens, it doesn't automatically save it in drafts.

Clearly they are wanting to get people to pay.

I had an issue in not being able to see my folders earlier this evening, the pop-up screen launched but was just a large plain white box.

After a bit of Googling I found I had to switch from Dark mode back to Light Mode. It was essentially trying to display white text on the white pop-up screen. It was working fine yesterday!

Also been using Yahoo with 2 accounts for many years. No difference for me so far. I view emails mainly on my iPhone & pad, sometimes on the Yahoo app.

What they said. Noticed the changes last week. You can set the default inbox message view to "All" but it should be like that from the start ffs.

I got a super email from Yahoo telling me that they will soon (can't remember when) start using spyware to target me with, er, targeted ads to, er, target me.

I had a choice of either accept targeted ads or fk off to another email provider.

I was well chuffed.

Thanks Yahoo.

It was probably that, I wasn't paying much attention.

I thought you could pay them a small amount and you wouldn't get the ads?

Yahoo Mail users to consent to targeted ads or pay a subscription fee starting March 2027

It says no "targeted" ads if you pay, but you will still get non-targetted/personalised ones, FFS yahoo!

Ah yes looks like you still get some ads just not targeted.

I never see ads on my Gmail account but I'm not sure if that's because I pay for Google One storage.
