I'm very dubious about a couple of entries in the Service Log of my car from the days before I bought the vehicle.
They are rubber-stamped and are endorsed by a mere squiggle of a signature which is more of an initial rather than any readable name.
One of the entries apparently records a timing belt replacement supposedly done in 2022.

The rubber stamp spells out:

P. B. A. KBZ
MOTOR GARAGE
DURHAM

I am well aware that any Tom, Dick and Harry can just buy a John Bull rubber stamping kit and set those letters up themselves so it makes me think that those entries in my Log book may be fictitious.
Does anyone here know of any such garage in Durham or anywhere else for that matter?

If it is fictious I may have to fork out for timing belt replacement that I hadn't been expecting at this stage.

You can buy stamps on E Bay with anything you like on them . No proof of a company. No details checked at all. Some sellers call them play stamps.

I have had one for a few years as I do my own servicing.

Mine just says my name and home serviced with a space for a date and mileage and a little car motive.

When I sold a car a few weeks ago I had to explain it was me not a garage to the buyer.

I bought a new motorbike last month and the service history is now kept on a USB Stick. The thought of buying a service stamp on ebay hadn't crossed my mind, but it made sense as soon as the salesman explained to me lol!
