Can I change this to a single socket?

This is in the middle of a wall. I assume it’s a spur and not on a ring.

Can I simply change it for an unfused single socket?

It's a switch to turn something on and off, not really a straight replacement to a socket.

Especially with the reassuring "FIRE" legend.

Behave. It's a spur for a electric fire. No reason it couldn't be swapped to a socket
