Been struggling to find the right weekend car for a couple of months. Looked at Sl63, R8, F type and Vantage but something was missing and couldn’t decide.

Had originally wanted a 2 seater but started looking at 4 seats and am definitely swaying towards one of these.

Two main criteria - convertible and V8.

I was going to spend up to 40k but these are half the money and look so classy now. Am well aware of the rod bearings and actuator issues.

Have had a few bmw cars before including M135i, 640i, F82 M4 and F90 M5 but these could be a good buy as I don’t think a good one will get much cheaper being a NA V8.

Have got my eyes on a couple and may well be an owner this time next week.

Anyone got one?

I had one a number of years ago. Had a 2008 E92 M3, then a 2009 E93 M3. I really liked it. It was DCT with EDC. Alpine white with red leather, 19 wheels. Really good car but liked petrol a lot, and has a very small tank in my opinion, for what it needs.

I owned mine before the rod bearings and actuators were a thing. All I did was the exhaust box modification which did make it sound better, but after a while got fed up and it sounded a bit boy racerish .

As a daily it was great at the time. I sold it for less than I could today!

The golf tee mod? I’ve never heard of that. I cut the exhaust box open, sleeved the perforated pipe inside then welded it back up.
