Been going every year (apart from 20 and 21 Covid Years) since I returned to the UK in 2012.

I might give it a miss this year as it’s becoming a little repetitive.

However a day out with a friend (we always travel by train) followed by a few beers and a curry with the wives when we get back to Chester always appeals.

An auction that charges the seller 10% plus the buyer 15%, or thereabouts.

I am in the wrong job.

There's a lot there, maybe more worth it for someone who's never been before. There's a lot to look at, but there's a lot of stuff that's there year after year. The theme this year is "debuts", so car club displays are trying to show cars that haven't been shown at the NEC before. I'm not sure if that extends to the various equipment people. I tend to have a good look around the autojumble and restoration equipment / supplies section then spend a few hours chatting to people on our club stand that I don't normally see for geographical reasons. I rarely look much at other club stands, or dealers or the like, but that's just me.

I think if you go on their web site there's a list of stands so you can have a look at who's there and see if you think it might be worth a go.

I'm going for the first time ever this year - quite a trek from Northern Ireland but with cheap flights to Birmingham it might be costing me less than someone getting the train from London!

Looking forward to it, but having watched a lot of YouTube tours of it over the past few years I'd agree it looks very similar from year to year.

Hand baggage only, so that should prevent me getting too carried away at the autojumble...

I sent the friend I went with in 2023 a couple of pictures from our day out. How could you resist when you remember the delights of an Avocado Green S1 Rover SD1 and a Brown Maxi.
