Surround sound

I've just got a new tv LG G6 and I want some better sound. Hoping for surround sound. The issue I have is my tv is on the wall on the fireplace, and the mrs doesn't want a sound bar on top of the beam we have. But I was thinking I could have 2 speakers behind our sofa at the back of the room.

Is there any recommendations? We use Apple TV a lot, could I buy 2 apple speakers and have them either side connected.

Or is there a better option? I could do with it being wireless as I don't want to be running wires round the living room.

LG has something called Sound Suite 5. This is a modular system, and it connects wirelessly. You can start with two speakers. Sounds like it's right up your street.

Pretty crap video but says what I'm trying to say, you can connect a soundbar to the TV itself, looks pretty good.

Are you going to use the TV speakers as the front, and the added speakers as surrounds? an you do that? The TV won't have a centre speaker, nor the signal/speaker outputs?
