I’m in london for a couple of days next week after the wife and daughter depart, so have time to kill. Any ideas for ways to spend the time welcome! Cheers

Sounds great!

I would just walk around the city, plenty to see and do, eat, drink, see a show maybe.

So many questions,
Are they leaving you for ever?
Why is London the starting point?
Why don't you just go home?
Are you interested in the concept of a suitable (unsuitable) gentleman's club?

The Science Museum is well worth half a day.

Ha

Hopefully not forever!

Flying into london then out again from london. Only on my own for a couple of days so not really enough time to go further afield.

Need to be in london the extra couple of days for a small work thing.

No to a gentleman’s club- was waiting for this suggestion!

V&A Museum.
Natural History Museum.
National Gallery.
Brompton Road Cemetery. (Some famous names in there.)
Globe Theatre.

Or just wander around.

Tbh, London is such a diverse, historic, cosmopolitan and large city that you can pretty much do anything you'd want to do!

I adore the history of London, but even having grown up there I've enjoyed walking tours of various themes. The museums/galleries are world leading. The food and drink opportunities are off the chart.

What sort of thing do you want to do? Active? Foodie? 'Learning'? Boozy?

For outdoor spaces, I personally don't think Greenwich or Richmond can be beaten. Can, and have, spent entire days just wandering around.

If you're looking to soak up some time - there are weekday matinee shows. If you don't get to London often, a West End show would be good fun.

You'd then be off to dinner somewhere - lots of places around Covent Garden...

The museums and galleries are a good shout too.

Have you ever heard of the Himalaya? Alaska? The Sahara? The Alps? The Scottish Highlands?

Four of the five. I meant in the context of London...

Download a few walks from All trails, or you've the London Hidden Walks series of books, you get to see parts you'd never normally go to.

Depending on your interest a couple of London Walks might appeal.

I've done a few. Well organised, informative and entertaining plus walking good for you

A bit left field, but If you happen to be interested in craft beer, Howling Hops (and frankly, the whole Hackney Wick canal area) is not to be missed. Also, Camden market for the street food is a real eye opener! drink

Id also just poddle round.

Go to Greenwich and walk to The Observatory.

The cablecar over the Thames is good.

Walk up Parliament Hill.

I used to go to London every so often for work, and would allow extra time just so I could walk instead of taking the tube.

If you're into steps, don't miss Goodge St and Covent Garden tube stations. Some decent staircases to be had.
