Which Brake Bleeding Kit ?

Can anyone recommend a one man brake bleeding kit ?

I've used a 'Vizibleed' by Europat Products. It was only a few quid (from Halford's, I think) and it worked ok.

If you are young, fit and stupid, preferred method is a long piece of clear plastic tube, Fit it over the nipple and suck! Works a treat!

You can also get vaccuum bleeders which do the same thing but without the mouthful of brake fluid, but a decent one will cost you £50 or so.

The 'Visibleed' one-way valve kits actually work reasonably well and cost next to nothing, but avoid Gunson Easibleed pressurre bleeders at all costs - I've never known one to give a decent seal over the master cylinder, so you invariably end up with brake fluid leaking all over the paintwork in your engine bay.

I use the easi bleed works a treat. The caps and seals do wear after a time so they don't last forever. As soon as the seal starts to leak time for a change, but if you are only using it once every couple of years should last a fair while. Probably no good for everyday use.

I've tried various "1 man" bleed kits based on one way valves at the calipers, or automatic devices to keep the reservoir topped up, and even a disasterous one that filled the reservoir under pressure. (In hindsight, filling a plastic container with corrosive highly flamable paint stripper under pressure and then hoping that the little plastic seal would hold was asking for trouble.)

The best one I've found is a vacuum pump used to suck fluid out of the caliper. Cost more than the others put together but has the advantage that it actually works.
