Out on a drive Saturday gone, I found myself repeating the same move over and over again.
With clear sky and an intermittently clear road, whilst burbling along in fourth gear, I periodically came up behind Mr Smith and his Mondeo on an economy drive.
Travelling at Heinz speed, a sensible 3mph lower than the recommended max, Mr Smith unwittingly kept making me reach for the magic 3rd gear selection movement. A simple left handed short punch towards the silent stereo. A glance in my mirror is habit, surely unnecessary as nothing could have been on my tail since the last stint of Optimax evaporation.
BANG
Undescribable is the zone into which I enter. A concoction of concentration, exhileration and adrenalin. I really, really can't see what I'm looking at. I just know how to do it. I must be looking at something but what? If you know what I mean, you've been there. If you don't, find it.
Its not even a blur, its bizarre. Its fantastic.
I continue seeking out my next pill in the shape of a jelly mould on its way to the local Spar shop.
If there's one thing that will wear out on my Griffith first, it will surely be the gear simply labelled '3'.

I'm new to the Griff scene but I'm wondering why I didn't get involved years ago instead of playing around with turbo charged cars.
Do seem to interest the sports bikers though, do you guys create the same interest? Not had a play with any yet cos I'm still trying to get the hang of the thing. Perhaps after I've done couple of track days, or maybe not.
I am hooked though. Going to put a roll bar in this winter and change the shocks.
Wondering how the standard front brakes will hold up on track. I'm used to running bigger brakes on a lighter car but I guess that there's only one way to find out.
I'm going to take it off the road at the end of the month so roll on next year !
