Has anyone come across the photographer Peter Lik. I first came across him in Australia about 5 years ago, was amazed at some of the images he has taken. I spent hours in his gallery in Cairns. Lat time we where there we bought a print had it shipped to the UK, it now stands pride of place above my fireplace,
It is Called Awakening... Shot in Tasmania at dawn.

His website is worth a look.

Everything you thought you knew about photography....has just changed.

How pretentious is that?

Some great images though.

Martin.

suppose it is a bit pretentious...
The images look incredible when they are framed the one we have is about 5ft wide by 2.5ft high... cost a lot but does look good... we where in many minds which one to buy... it was my wifes choice in the end as it was an anniversary present.
If ever you are in Australia or America and you come accros one of his galleries it is worth a look.

An irritating website.

Looked at the 'Squares' gallery and feck me there's a shot just like my Tequila Sunrise! So either he's crap or I'm a genius... hmmm...

C'mon John, even us mortals have flashes of inspiration. Still waiting for mine tho. I bet he got the idea for his pic after seeing yours on here.

I'm with Simpo on this one, though I would use stronger language to describe the web site !

Maybe the website isn't great but I've been in the Cairns gallery (and one somewhere else when in Oz but can't remember where). All I can say is that I was gobsmacked by the images on display. They are big - in terms of physical size and impact - but I appreciate that they may not be to everyones taste.

You pay your money and you take your choice.....

True, I'm sure they look much better in the flesh.

Nice shots, though I hate with a burning passion all flash photography sites. The site may have a better finish, but it's extremely annoying waiting for flash screens to load. I'd be happy with a directory listing of the photo files...
