lowdown on cerbera for prospective buyer

2 weeks into ownership and all I can say is go for it. Haven't had any problems (yet) to speak of and ours is used everyday. Spend 4 or 5 hours reading back through the various posts and that should give you some decent information.
Hope you get one. Don't know where you are but if you are anywhere near me you are more than welcome to come for a passenger ride and a cup of tea.

Mines a daily driver, been pretty good, £3k a year see's you through servicing and the odd clutch.
Speed bumps & ramps are a pain.
13mpg round town, 27mpg on the motorway at 4000 revs 108 mph, I've never actually been that speed, but that's what I've been told m'lord.
Owners handbook says not to go over 2.5k revs until she warms up, which is a pain as I'm only two miles from home to work. Frequently leave work and get bullied by Corsas, as I value my engine to much to fight back

Like RUSSELLM I always warm it up at 1500 revs for a minute before moving off as instructed by Joolz and then keep the revs down until it has reached proper operating temps - get one, enjoy it, hav fun, stay safe.

I personally idle mine for 15 mins when i start her up.
Ive had it for 2 months now almost and its not a daily driver.
It drinks petrol like you wouldnt believe and ive spent the past 2 months messing around with niggly little things.
Wouldnt use it as my daily driver mainly because its a big basic extremely powerful car and the drone down the motorway through the sports exhausts is somthing else.
But as a weekend car i am extrmely happy with it--- there is nothing i think that you can better spend the equivelent amount of money on for sheer presence and raw brutal power.
People stand and stare at you driving by-- people tailgate you just to try and get you to put you`re foot down and see a legendary car in action.
I love it!

I really wouldn't idle the car for this long after starting. An idling engine is actually quite an unhealthy thing.
The engine was designed to have a load against it and idling does it no favours. How about setting off but being very gentle with it.
It'll warm up quicker, and you won't spend so much on fuel

I always start and go straight away, just keeping the revs low and not giving it any power. Feather foot

i really appreciate all the help so far but i am still 50/50 on buying one as the one post about it not being an every day car has stuck in my head.

Small 6k at an Indy £400ish
Large 12k at an Indy £700 ish
But there is always something else to do while it's in so mine have been alot higher!
My Cerb's ride is very hard.....but that's is the way I like it. Nitron shocks are adjustable to suit your driving style!

300 quid a month including insurance, servicing, tyres, breaking bits. For me anyway.

Can't do anything about that, they prefer to be driven though.

6k minor (400ish), 12k major (600ish)
Plus any other little bits that need done at the time

Got about 9k from mine used as daily driver, fast run outs and long trips to Europe.

Depends what you have on it. 16's are quite good, 17's reasonable, haven't driven 18's but people say it's quite hard. Everything can be made softer with adjustable shocks though.

I generally use mine on weekends and the odd weekday when I'm working from home, but even so I've had a fairly expensive year as well:

As Dave said though, it all seems worth it when stuck on the tube Monday - Friday. Driving the Cerb is the best part of the weekend!
Saying that, it's currently in with Tower View having some more fettling... And boy am I missing it after last weekend's glorious weather! I just hope the sun holds a bit longer before the normal deluge of winter...
I wouldnt recommend as an everyday car.

The cheaper and older they are then they are likely to be more grief.
You should allow £3K pa for repairs and servicing PLUS ins and fuel.
If you cant afford £3K pa, if you arent chlled out about the foibles of ownnership, if you arent passionate about them etc etc then forget it right now.
