Went to book pod parking for a work trip next week and it’s saying fully booked. I called Heathrow parking and they said I might get a space but couldn’t guarantee it as it’s 1/2 term.

I’ll be arriving around 615AM on Monday, so fairly early, what’s the chance I’ll get a space? I know I’ll be stung for the £59.60/day rate without booking.

Nothing else available? I've parked in short stay for similar money to pod parking. Or long stay as the bus isn't too infrequent.

Actually you’re right, short stay looks around the same price as pod parking. Not so keen on short stay as I always think you get dozens of different people parking next to you each day opening their car doors into you.

Short stay is mainly people staying a few days and plenty of people staying longer, we often park in short stay for 2-3 weeks. Provided it's booked in advance it's often not that much more.

Last time I used it for a week I parked well away from the lifts and there was nothing parked either side when we left it and when we returned.

I see your logic. Whenever I’ve done it I avoid being near the lifts and walkways, find two nice cars, not black Mercedes, nothing nosey parked.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen POD actually full so I can’t imagine you’d struggle there.

Parking nose in at the airport makes sense if you've got cases!

That’s true, but it also increases your chances of someone dragging the front of their car down the side of yours when they land back after a 12 hour night flight and reverse out of a narrow space bleary eyed.
