Has anyone done the upgrade of the software on the above (a plug in box rather than a larger new screen) and if so, where did you get the kit please (mine is a 4.5 NTG system)? I’m about to start using my car a lot more and the thought of using Google Maps & Waze Waze on the main screen is appealing to me.

Not a CLS but a 2010 E500 and I used a kit from a company called Integrated Automotive, based around Leicester iirc. Mine was NTG 4.0 but they make for many other models.

Works very well and uses the Merc screen and functions using the turning wheel control etc. So if you didn't know the kit was installed you can't tell looking at the car's interior. You switch between the OE and IA kit by pressing and holding the end call key.

I found it quite fiddly removing the central dash vents and head unit, so easy to break a tab as I did... So now get the occasional annoying rattle which I never had before. So if buying again for another car I would get a pro with experience to fit it.

But their online / telephone support for questions with fitting and connecting was helpful.

Don't think I've ever written so much on here but hope it's useful

I've also got a 2010 E500 with the Integrated Automotive box. It's a great solution.

Over time, I also had the dash tweeters and door speakers replaced by Morels and had a 10 inch sub fitted in the boot.

Maybe not quite as loud as the HK in my previous Merc but much more balanced and nuanced.
