Is there a fainting smilie...!!!!
I spoke to TVR and they said they fitted Bilsteins to the chim so want to stick to them if possible.
I knew Ohlins were expensive just not that expensive.

No, just seem so fiddly to fit and if they are not fitted correctly they can cause more problems.
I wanted Ohlins, just cos they are one of the best shocks out there, but the price is a little too steep for me.
Seeing as I am only keeping her till next year, I dont want to spend a fortune on her (well any more money than necessary). So I just want shockers that will do what thye need to do. She isnt getting tracked or rallied so there is no need to get anything fancy.

Incidently I have a car coming in shortly with ohlins fitted 'cos the owner isn't totally happy with them and refuses to go back to the place that supplied them .. something to think about ...
If you want cheap then keep looking through the classifieds and ebay for s/hand std tvr stuff.

At the weekend I drove a Griff with Trackcar's own setup (I'm sure he can tell you what make they are, as I have no idea!). To say I was amazed at the difference is an understatement.
The car is setup very firmly (a bit more than I'd go to for daily driving), but certainly ironed out all of the little undulations in the road. It covered the tarmac smoothly, but still provided a nice level of feedback and detail of what lay underneath. Composed through the bends without rolling, but still inspired confidence to push on through the corners; whether tight hairpins or long sweeping bends.
Let's just say thay getting back to my standard Bilstein sprung Chimaera was a disappointment... Trackcar, I'll be having a chat with you in the near future.

I thought you were selling up and moving to the dark side (911)? Or have you changed your mind and decided to stick with TVR?
Still want a 911... but the sort I want is a little out of budgetry grasp... for now...

Is the orientation of the spring and the lengths of the wishbones different in a chim / griff when compared to Cerb and Tuscan? If so I could understand whay a Tuscan would typically run a bit more rate front and rear.
Thinking if the same, then the overall weight of a Tuscan and chimp are as near as damn it the same and front to rear weight likley very similar, then surely the higher normal (say trackday spec) on Niton'd Tuscan coul this not be an equally good rate to put on a chim / griff. Why go softer just cos the original car was softer?
Above maybe a bit techy - maybe I should goto the Mods Section?

I've seen a few TVR's fitted with AVO's & other adjustable shocks that whilst being fine for the car - do not suit the owner.
If you don't enjoy getting under the car to adjust them - then let's face it : they are not the best solution for you.
