Gobsmacked. Alzheimer s. Brief battle?
I have to admit my experience from personal relationships with those that had that brief is a few years if not longer. could have sworn he was in fine form a year or so back.

Very sad. A great loss.

What an absolutely top man. Working class background. Life-long Labour supporter. He was a jobbing stage actor until he was cast as Picard & became a major global star in his 50s, but he never turned his back on his roots in the theatre.

RIP, sir. clap

Meh TNG was the worst of the Treks IMO. But Picard was an awesome captain, and the favourite role model of my bestie! wink Enjoyed the "Picard" series too.

86 is a fair innings, Lived long and prospered.

Santé!

You know how in Picard his consciousness is transferred into an android body rendering him effectively immortal?

Well, hear me out...

Yes Picard was a great Captain, played by a great actor, but Next Generation had a clunky start and many prefer Voyager and DS9.

He probably made more of an impact for me as Professor X

I could never get past them pronouncing Xavier as "ex-saviour".

Do those people pronounce Dave as "Dee-arvay"? John as "Jay-owner"? Do they play the "ex-ylophone"? Knobs.

I loved TNG and I consider some episodes to be the among the best TV episodes ever largely thanks to Patrick Stewart's acting and great scripts. I also saw him on stage in a solo performance of A Christmas Carol where he exuded so much energy and humour.

This scene from a TNG film encapsulates his acting for me:

I've seen the film version of A Christmas Carol several times, and always enjoy it. Will try to catch it again this year.

RIP Sir.
