It’s another terrorism attack attack in London. Fire bomb attack that could have resulted in many lives lost. At what point do we start doing something about these sorts of people? We need to lock them up for a long time. We also need to start seeing far more condemnation from their community, and signs they are combatting the radicalization of some of them. Is London lost and turning into a no-go hellhole because of this sort of person?

It's depressing seeing the praise for him on social media.

Not the brightest.

BBC said:
Neville was identified on CCTV throwing the petrol bomb at the hotel before returning to the door of his flat on Pear Tree Street.
Sadly a lot of elderly men go down these rabbit holes and end up getting radicalised online like this hate filled weirdo.

BBC said:
Police said analysis of his computers showed internet searches on far right activism and asylum seekers.
Thank goodness nobody was injured.

A really serious crime and it's lucky it didnt result in the deaths of many people. I'm not sure about your point about London being "lost" though. I dont really see this as a London thing.

Think you're missing the intended irony

He's right though. Very strange contrasting threads like this with other attacks.

Only a handful of replies?

If this was the other way around we'd be into pages already.

Funny that...

Mods should change subject to avoid alarming people.

I thought this related to something happening today.

So did I and was surprised when I couldn't find anything on the front pages of MSM.

The incident happened over a year ago and the thread isn't a serious one so it's not really surprising. The OP is attempting to make some sort of point.

I hope the scumbag gets a very, very long sentence next month.

I don t think they do, I think this bloke is very much in the minority and (fortunately) this is an extremely unusual event.

It's actually very much both serious and partly making a point.

He's been convicted now, so there is no discussion about "lets wait to see he's guilty" that pops up for some kinds of cases. There's also more people becoming radicalised it seems against migrants, and so we are likely to see more of these. I'd also hope given the previous calls for Muslims to call out and combat radicalisation that we'd do the same when someone in a community like (many of) us PHers does this, and try and combat those online supporting him. That goes if it was a muslim or old white guy.

It was news, and a serious case. I just worded it in a way that many other terrorism threads are done on PH to partly highlight that we often treat the same thing (terrorism) very differently despite the fact it's still terrorism.
