BMW F34 330d Rear driveshaft removal for wheel bearing repla
Discussion
Hi everyone,
I'm currently replacing a rear wheel bearing on my 2014 BMW series 3 GT (F34) and have run into a problem getting the driveshaft out of the wheel hub.
So far, we've removed the brake disc, caliper and wheel hub flange. The old bearing has separated (wasn't actually that bad to get off), leaving the ball bearings exposed (see attached photo).
The problem is getting the driveshaft out of the remaining bearing assembly.
What we've found:
I thought the driveshaft was bolted on but I think for the F34 its some simple push mechanism?
The driveshaft can be pushed inwards approximately 2 cm through the bearing by hand, I could maybe push it more but I don't want to bust anything.
Will I be able to push the driveshaft through W, or will I need to remove the hub to get more clearance?
I couldn't remember how upload an image on onto the post so I've linked below
