But now I know, yes, agreed.

I doubt he'll be seeing it that way when expecting 'a custodial sentence of some length'.
One good result today. Hopefully we'll see Vickrum Digwa's sentence increased soon for another.

Digwa was an appalling miscarriage.
And also the girl who was stabbed 10 times.
You can t blame the Judges though.

So what sort of sentence would the charges he's been found guilty of get, I've no knowledge of any sort of custodial guidelines?
I’m going for around 8 years. With the current discount and problems around prisons? I wouldn’t be surprised if that. Probably serve around 3. Or, unless crazy, suspended sentence.
But the Justice system does seem a bit crazy just now, so who knows.

I'm not sure if these are directly applicable with the dates of the offences, but these are the guidelines for more recent offences. https://sentencingcouncil.org.uk/guidelines/rape/.If it is applicable he's probably looking at culpability A and harm 2/3.

Well done that jury. And well done to the brave women who gave evidence.
That s one less predatory scumbag on the streets.
I don't know how he got away with it for so long, anybody with eyes in their head knew he was a wrong one 20 years ago. People in power covering up for him because he made them money. That s one less predatory scumbag on the streets.

Good job the category of offence he has been found guilty of is excluded from potential early release then.Or, unless crazy, suspended sentence.

He has also been remanded and told he will serve a lengthy sentence so suspended is not going to be an option either

I'm curious about the two not guilty rape verdicts. Is it simply the case that the jury felt it was not proven to be non-consensual, or that it didn't happen at all? Is there ever any elaboration on their reasoning?
The one he was found guilty of happened after consensual sex, so seems from the periphery to be the least likely to be found guilty on?
Hopefully he gets a meaningful sentence, especially since he hasn't been cleared of the two other offences, just not proven to the standard.

Good questions. Could be any number of reasons there's reasonable doubt including the ones you've suggested.
They could be 90% sure he committed the offences but that's not enough to reach the threshold.
