Oil drips? Sump?

Try to work out exactly where it is coming from, clean the adjacent areas, get it warm, park it over a bit of newspaper and see if you can find exactly where the drip is falling from. Then trace the oil back uphill to the leak. Helps if you are due for an oil change so you can see the oil, next to impossible if the oil is new and clear!

Agree, but if it's hitting the propshaft, then you are getting a self lubing chassis!

Could be a rocker cover gasket, or rear crank seal. The rocker covers might look okay, but believe me oil can and does find a way around everything.

My opinion is that unless you are noticing horrendous oil consumption (because of the leak) and you are getting really large oil patches on your drive/road then leave it alone and monitor it.

Well i need to go about under sealing it so i will have a good look at it on saturday morning weather permiting and see from there.

Anyone got an idea on the torque for the sump and a sequence? Just in case.

When i replaced mine, i worked from the centre out on both sides - i dont know the torque setting, but dont do them up too tight as the sump will distort and you will never get it to seal

I was thinking a spiral from inside to outside to a maximum of 15 to 20 NM.

Does evryone agree?
