soft top or hard top
Discussion
The original soft tops were made from "cabriolet vinyl" and provided they are not full of holes, tears etc and have not delaminated are as water proof as any production car soft top.
The only problem we have had (and still do) is that due to the lack of total support of the hood in certain situations it can pool water on top usually by the door openings. When you come to get in the vehicle it naturally moves slightly on the suspension and you and the interior if the door is open can get a cold shower.
What we tend to do is (with the door shut) at arms length push down on the edge of the hood by the pool and cause it to run off before getting in to the vehicle.
The soft tops are now only available second hand or by visiting some where like a boat chandlers who make soft tops for boats and getting them to make you a soft top for your Jago.
OK the hard top provided it is sealed correctly to the top of the windscreen and body with either a good neoprene seal or silicon sealant then it should be as weather proof as any standard production vehicle.
These are available second hand or possibly new from Jago Developments 01243789366
Last known price for the new hard top £954
It may be worth checking the adverts page on the Transmissions web site in case any second hand hard or soft tops are available.
