Tool kit....

Just wondered if anybody had any sensible suggestions of which tools and spares I should be carrying around in the boot of my 4ltr Chim? (apart from a credit card with plenty of credit, of course!)

I carry - torch, flat-mate, gaffer tape, jump leads, wheel brace/jack, digital tyre inflator (works from cigarette lighter - oh, and the roof!

Doesn't your flat-mate like your flat anymore, must be a bit cramped in the boot

I used to carry a fan belt, fuel relay, assorted bulbs and fuses including the infamous 100 amp,
gaffer tape, small can of WD40 and a top up bottle of water.

I carry 2 cans of tyre-weld and a map (don't know why the map is in there, the gf can't read them for toffee run for cover)

Just thought, I've got the jack and wheel brace in their too but no spare tyre...doh

I have an oil container in the boot to top up as well as the stuff listed...

all the above, plus some of that rain off stuff, jubilee clips, two needles for when the otter switch fails...

(It's amazing how many relays, fuses, bulbs etc you can fit in the two cubby holes behind the seats

Has anybody punctured a can of tyre weld whilst popping the roof back in the boot? Its amazing the mess it makes, and how quickly!

No time! First of all I thought it was a ssssssnake. Whipped the roof out sharpish, & foam was pumping out in a 12" arc. It completely filled a handy carrier bag. It was still hissing as I left it in the bin and sheepishly sloped away.

As for relays and fuses I guess any decent motorfactor should be able to supply them?
