Following on from a converstaion about James Deans porch ("Little Bastard") and an earlier thread derailment;

Do you name your cars? if so, how do you arrive at a name?
Eddie Stobart (famously) names all the rigs in the fleet, I must admit most of my vehicles have names too although there is no "formula" that connects each decision. The Monaro is "Milly" (named by my godchild).

The Monaro is now officially Red Ruth.

Jax's Puma is called Pubert.

The Scorpio is "come on you bastard, go faster!!"

Use to have a VW Golf long time ago. Whenever it bailed us up, we called it "Hitlers Revenge". Might have been a common term, but remember all the time dad saying, don't take the commodore you taking Hitlers Revenge for a drive. At that point I remember that I really didn't need to go any where.

Once half way between Rocky and Sarina (home town) the Hitlers Revenge lost all electrics. It is a 300km+ stretch of absolutely nothing. With no lights, no moon light, no nothing, in the middle of no where, and doing 130km an hour, in complete pitch black. When we finally stopped, came within 5 metres of missing a corner completely.

Several times tried to get rid of Hitlers Revenge. Once decided we would take it out on the beach for a run. Umm, was really on it's last legs. Beer in boot, tide comes in, tide comes out. Open door, let the water out, and see if it starts. Yup, buggar. Finally traded it in on a Commodore of my own, (actually got paid to keep it).

err.... well ive always been none to original!!

First car was a Cavalier, reg plate ended GCB so we called it 'Gone Completely Bonkers!'

The i got a 2.0 Sierra, originally named Sammy!

Then i got a XR4x4...Sammy II!

Then the Cossie... you guessed it Sammy III! (the turbos revenge!)

The Vectra was er... well.. 'Veccy!'

The missused Golf was 'Golfy'

Now we have a new astra and the Monaro! Neither fit in our naming trend!

So far ive come up with Ash-tray (non-original!) and RS4 slayer for the Monaro as thats its latest victory....

I do need a nice name for it though... just cant fit one.. Marvin Monaro perhaps?? he he he!

Only those in tune with Oz music band "midnight oil" will really get this but here goes..
Now we have an HSV GTS Coupe & a SMART Passion model, we got.. 'The Power & the Passion'.
Sorry, shocker I know! Usual term for the HSV is as with previous post.. "The Beast", or just "HOVER" after it's now retired Victorian rego plates. I always thought "My Black Bitch" had a certain ring but my wife was not so happy with that one so that never got a run.

Black Beauty - as the missus calls it.

Mind you she also reckons that if she got as much love and attention as the car she would be a contented women.
