Messenger messages

Over the past week I continually keep getting messenger messages saying things along the line of
" Your registry is corrupted, please go to www. reg cleaner this,blah, blah, blah"

Question is, how do I get rid of them once and for all?

Start > run services.msc and set the messenger service to disabled. Restart PC, Job done.

You can also stop the service manually after it's disabled if you want.

And then get a firewall like Zone Alarm, the free version.
