Really sorry to hear this Owen - if someone did this intentionally its enough to make your blood boil - you definitely not been driving around any building sites have you?!

Funnily enough there is some building going on a few doors down. I'm pretty sure it's not that though as they are in a suspiciously straight line across both the wheels.

Gutted mate, how the heck would you get them in though by hand, if the wheels are all straight.?

It would take someone 20 minutes surely to get that many in!

It could be kids chucking handfuls on them out in the road for a "laugh". That would explain them all being in one spot on the tyre.

Have you pulled one out to see if they are tacks or long nails. I suspect they are only a centimeter long.

Lucky you needed new tyres anyway mate!

your not trying to justify spending a grand on tyres to the missus are you

Complete and utter ers.

I sincerely hope someone didn't do it on purpose but in this day and age its more likely it was intentional than accidental!

I noticed this morning in the garage.
All the tyres are still up and the heads on the nails are a bit worn so I guess it could have been anywhere in the last few days.

It's most likely like greg said - some kids chucking them on the road or in a car park somewhere. Little blighters !

You bend down and line them up point upwards just behind or infront of the wheel.

That's why the heads of the nails are wide, so you can stand them on end.

Bad luck btw.

Bummer Owen!

This is why I always sweep up very carefully at least twice after DIY jobs (whether done by myself or tradesmen)!

I doubt the tacks were set against your wheels to penetrate the skin when you moved forwards - more likely they were deliberately thrown in the area of your motor

I expect they were kids but nonetheless there are indeed...

No it's not! You do it for the same reason you wash and polish your car so much...you, Mr Sherwin, are a stickler for detail! (I nearly said you were anal but I thought that was a little harsh )

Martin.
