Opposite the bus stop last night, I saw three of the Mets leather-clad finest, parked with their three uber-bikes next to the pizza shop.

My first reaction was someone must have closed the kebab shop, and after all London's finest must eat somewhere.

My second reaction was that actually they were being co-opted into the delivery service, duly noted the number, and expected my pizza to arrive blue-light hot next time I order.

However the truth was revealed, as I watched them creak down to examine the delivery scooters. They were giving the pizza delivery bikes a really really thorough examination. Tyres, lights, horns, full roadworthiness test.

About time too (although its the driving of those death bikes that really needs sorting, not the mechanics) - so a big  to the BiB-on-bikes. And that'll learn the pizza bloke not to slip in an extra American Hot next time he delivers to the garage.

ATTABOY!!! that is the way to do real policing! which they still do around here (SW Germany) however they stop ALL vehicles and check paperwork etc usually it's the mopedistas who've "tuned" their buzzboxes who get caught. The only trouble is they do it always in the same place, time, and day of the week, so the local drunk drivers et al know all about it!

I see a good trick here.

Police HQ order a round of pizzas for the night staff. They radio ahead to check the delivery bike.
Pizza arrives after the 20 minute free pizza guarantee!

Free pizzas all round!

It's only good if you prefer cold pizza though. Much better for the bib to return it to the station with blue lights blazing surely.

It looked to me like the BiB had already had a pizza or two...
