I have a set and they are very good - the covers are about 6mm thick. If you get a smashed lamp it can be up to 3 hours work plus the cost of the lamp unit.

I got them from www.digbits.co.uk - not sure if they are shown on the site but the contact details are there and they normally post them out for next day delivery. Ask for Mickey Luv if he's not there then Marcus.

Check out www.tvrcc.com - carbodisks or carbodomes, or whatever they are called...

Are the Carbodomes featured on the TVRCC site easy to install? Are they simply round bits of plastic that sit in front of the lights? Are they easy to remove?

I'm hoping someone out there has used these so I can get real-world user feedback rather than marketing speak

Blackmonday,
Got some on a Chimaera - they attach to lens with 3 equidistantly spaced clear plastic velcro pads. You can't really see the pads on the headlamp lens when they're off. They're thick and should protect well. I keep continental headlamp converter stickers on them and use them for tracks and continental travel.

I've got some of these on the driving lamps on my Griff too. They seem to be protecting the lamps like it says on the tin - no problems with cracks so far. The three pieces of Velcro are quite large and can be seen if you look at the lamps, but to the casual observer I don't know if they'd be noticed.

I can post pics if you want.

Edited to add: They're very easy to fit. Don't know about removing them though - I haven't tried.

Hi Nasz,

Sorry, I don't have the car any more, so I can't take any new pictures for you.

Here's a pic of the car with the protectors fitted, though. You can see the velcro attachments, but they're pretty discreet. I think they were a bit more obvious in real life, but on the whole they didn't detract from the look of the car at all.

They did their job with no problems. Neither of the protectors cracked in all the time I had them on the car.
