I'd say Xbox 360...

Cheaper, common platform, easy to maintain, no ridiculous race to upgrade and throw away perfectly good hardware...

If its games in the main, dont get a TFT

I know they've got a lot quicker but they are still nowhere as good as a good CRT.

That either saves a few quid or allows you to buy a bigger or a little more of something else.

Na, that's old skool rhetoric! TFTs have come of age no end, and for most gamers, 12-16ms will be fine. 4-8ms will take a CRT to the cleaners.
Also, less heat, less electricity, less radiations, less desk space taken up.
CRTs days have been numbered for the last 2 years at least.
Only the CAD/CAM boys use CRT, and now that's being challenged severely by the likes of the Apple 30" CD.
I'll give you CRT has better (marginally to the trained eye!) colour reproduction, but then, it has had the best part of a quarter of a century to be fine tuned and honed to perfection. Let's see where we are in 10 years time with emerging flat panel technology.

Maybe all true, but TFTs also take you to the cleaners on price!

On my desk I have a 21" and 19" CRT, both of which give superb picture quality, colour reproduction contrast and sharpness.

All for less than £150. Not sure I could get the same quality from TFT for 10 times that cost.... So to turn your argument around - CRTs have the best part of a quarter of a century to be a reasonable price, I'll wait and see where flat panel technology is in 10 years before re-mortgaging
