Apparently the wheels on the last of the LE cars are 16" all round. Are the wheels exactly the same front and rear, ie transferable?

Interesting then that the manual on mine (no 57) says 15" at front & 16" at back (I just checked) although the dealer assured me it was 16" all round. I think TVR didn't upgrade the manual.....tapemeasure out tommorrow for confirmation

Excuse my ignorance but WTF is a "J" Is that just the profile of the tyre that is different? Are the wheels interchangeable forgetting the tyres?

No they are definately not. The "J" referrs to the width of the alloy and tyre (I think!). The rear wheels are wider than the front by about 25mm. Therefore you can only swop left to right, not front to rear. HOWEVER, if your tyres are classed as directional tread pattern (Toyo/Bridgestone SO2 etc), then no swopping of any kind can be done, unless you take the tyre off the rim first.

The width of the rim is simply stated by it's dimensions, i.e. a 18"x8" rim is 8" wide. The tyre width is stated in mm so a 225 tyre is 225mm wide (approx 9" ) . The J is a description of the shape in cross section of the bead around the rim. Nearly all rims are J section these days but back in your granddad's days, when there were cross-ply tyres, there were different shape beads. The J was introduced to suit the 'new' radial tyres. So for example a Lotus Cortina may have had 14"x41/2 J Mini lite rims for radial tyres. Thats all it means. Rich...

Of course not identical 16s all round, 245 rear 225 front, and the tires are directional so not only can you not swop front/rear, you can't swap Left/right either

I thought the wheels were identical on all four corners.
Pretty sure TVR just fitted the 16x7.5 wheels at the front.
Even using the same offset of ET35
