Washer Jets... why won't they work

I've been having problems with my washer jets over the last few weeks. First problem was finding the filler cap on my 4.2 - eventually located it under the pipes running from the air box. Then the pipe from the reservoir to the washer jets had disconnected - fixed. Now they won't work at all and I'm not sure where to look to solve this problem...

Any ideas...?

If the pipes have been disconnected, have you tried re-priming the pump, etc? Could be that after so much disuse, that it needs it...

They've probably melted. They run quite close to hot bits. I had mine all replaced at one of my services and the change was like going from a dribble to Niagra Falls.

Generally it's the water pump,you don't need the exact replica, my last pump came from halfwits about a tenner.

The jets themselves will block spontaneously just for the hell of it. If you use the washers lumps of crud get in there and block the jets. If you don't use them, limescale etc will accumulate as the water evaporates and this will block the jets.

take the engine cover panel thing off, look at the pipes nr the expansion tank. Have they melted!?

You should be able to hear the pump kick in when you press the washer button, if it does check for an air bubble, or broken pipe. If not may bee electrics or pump.

Yep - the pump works when I press the button. I'll check at the w/end for bubbles or split pipes.

Have you tried blowing through the pipes?

Mine had come loose in the battery area, blew down one pipe and heard it bubbling in the fluid tank so no blockage there. Connect the t-piece that goes to the wipers up to a high pressure tyre thingy and give that a blast. Should clear out any clinkers.
