New Toyos

Trying to get new Toyos for the Griff and the T1R isn't available as anything above V rating as 15" (needs to be W minimum). T1S's not made anymore (as per Toyo). The Toyos are great and I don''t want to change but can't seem to get any. Can anyone get the 205/55ZR15 T1S or the 245/454ZR16 T1S?
Plenty advertised on web sites so I have ordered and they have come back telling me they can't get them.

I contacted my insurance company, and they were fine with the lesser rating......

got mine fitted & balanced alround for £400

I got a full set only ten weeks ago for the Chim from Selecta Tyre. Maybe worth giving them a call. IIRC they were £360.00 fitted inc VAT.

The price difference must be due to the North/South divide

nothing to do with me not shopping around, and using a fitter who doesn't stock TOYO's

Me too, I spoke to several manufacture of tyres and Dunlop, said they were still making them for at least a year.

As stated on several previous posts hereabouts, take it easy for a few hundred miles - particularly now we're into wet and cool weather. Mine felt very uneasy until they'd been run in/cured....now they're great.
BTW - I have T1-Rs on both front & rear - my insurer was fine about putting V-rated tyres on the front.

Have just had written confirmation from insurance company that they're happy with the V rated tyres, so will now have Toyo Proxes T1-R (205/55 R15 88V) on the front (£57.90 each inc P&P from mytyres.co.uk), and Toyo Proxes T1-R (225/55ZR16) on the back (£86.80 each inc P&P from same place).

Austec are fitting fronts, replacing shocks (Gaz has a deal on at the momement) and then doing a full alignment. Should keep me out of trouble for the next 12 months :-)

By my calculations, that's a complete set of tyres at £289.40, which, at even £10 per corner fitting & balancing represents great value - £329.40 all in!

Just had confirmation that Toyo are NOT going to produce a W rated tyre in the 15" size - T1-R.
I suggest we get together and bombard Toyo with e-mails and get a petition - anyone interested.

Bugger - I have just bought 2 x 245/45/16 T1-R's.

Wow that's expensive. I suggest you shop elsewhere. I paid £93 for 245/45/16 fitted and balanced.

I paid £93.50 each for T1-S (225/50x15), fitted, balanced and new valves, couple of months back.

If you buy Toyos before the end of this month you can get some cash back from Toyo. Download the application form from their website and send off with your invoice. Anything up to £80 but for standard Griff/Chim wheels more like £20 (T1S or R) or £40 (R888).
