Anyone recommend a cheap insurance company. Got a really good quote from Direct Line (554) but forgot to save it and for some really bizarre reason when I went back to the sight it gave me a higher price and I've tried every combo going to get it back down. I'm a good steady driver, not naughty and stay under 40.

I've just renewed mine. The best I could get was from Asda.com!

I had an own fault accident 2 years ago. Having declared that, I've paid £823 with protected no-claims bonus and legal expenses, for my new 4 litre Tuscan, including foreign use, European cover and business use. Rather more than I'm used to paying, but a helluva lot less than most quotes.

First Alternative were also quite competitive.

Cheers,
Richard

Many thanks guys this thread has save me lots of money!!
Had my renewal through from Classicline for £1127.33 for limited 7500 miles I had been online to lots of comapnies & looked through Sprint & got it down to £858.90 with Sunninghill for 8000 miles & was on verge of renewing through them.
I saw this thread & followed link to Privilege & now have a renewal quote of £726.60 for 10k miles.

Worth trying Tesco as well. Same product as Privilege but sometimes comes up cheaper.

Hi can I ask how much the front end conversion was for your Tusc? I am thinking about it for cosmetic reasons but does it help with cooling also?

Cheers

(Back to topic)

Direct Line was about £1200 for me (26), clean licence 2 years NCB.

Sorry mate no idea...... was on the car when bought! and no idea on cooling... looks cool though!

I'm 25... Not a clean licence and wrote a 2 yr old beamer off earlier in year so insurance companies do not like me....

cheapest i found was £670 from norwich union direct. 30 full no claims no points. i got that quote online through insuresupermarket.com. went to get policy straight to norwich union sight and there quote was 950ish. bizarre. went back to insuresupermarket, back at 670. clicked buy now, sent me straight to norwich union to pay 670. rang them a few days later just to check everything was ok. it was. might be worth a check.

Hi Guys, got it with privilege in the the end £556 which I believe is fair. Norwich Union for me was 1K plus and the rest were around 7-8 hundred. Found a good one for under 500 but the car had to be over 5 years old:

My wife, the internet queen found these guys, they were very friendly and said they would insure it under s modern classic policy. Thanks for your input guys happy motoring, mind the wet leaves, weeeeeeeeeeee!

I couldn't get a quote with Privilege online unless I had a tracker (which I don't) and was held in 'phone queues for ages without answer, so gave up on them. What was included with your insurance? My other cars are insured with Privilege, so maybe I should try harder with them next time.

Cheers,
Richard

I had just SDP and didn't protect my NCB as it's a second car so didn't see the need. Think excess is 650 and didn't opt for legal cover as this is just a scam really.
Swift cover was next on my list but I was insuranced out by this stage so will keep them in reserve for next year along with ADRIAN SWIFT.
