So who's had any luck ? And I mean long term, not shedding a couple of lbs for a short time, only to pile it all back on again.

I went on 6 diets at once, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I considered it a great success. In fact, I may try 6 more this weekend.

I have done Weight Watchers and I think it's the best. Went from over 15st down to 13.5st in about 12 weeks. Put it all back on over the next year or so!!

Been doing a similar thing this year and now sit at 13st 5 but the difference is I am now doing, on average, 10 miles on the push bike every 2 days.

It's a tuff one as I love pies and cake but am much happier that when we go over bumps in the Mini I don't have to hold my manboobs!

Its easy. All you have to do is eat nothing of any taste whatsoever, and eat no more than you actually need. Take up an exercise regime, and consume no alcohol, at all, whatsoever.

Thats how I got down to my (kart) racing weight of 11 stone, many years ago. I'm 16 now, but happier.

I have dropped about 10kg this year. I say about because I have got bigger and stronger too. So I would estimate my body fat percentage has gone down a fair bit. I have reduced the amount of sugar I am eating. Just look at the packet and see how much sugar is in it. If it's a lot don't buy it. I still buy none sugar cookies too. Reduce the pop but don't cut it out. I want to get fitter not get boring.

The weight has been constantly coming off and looks to continue.

40 mins cardio 4 times a week plus the normal 4-5 days on the weights all helps.

So - many years before you were 16, you weighed 11 stone...

I devised a diet consisting mostly of beans on toast, and 30 minutes jogging every day.

Lost shed loads of weight and now - with the help of lots of weight training (well, whenever I can fit it in) - can eat constantly throughout the entire day without gaining any weight! The down side to this constant weight is I'm not getting any bigger muscle-wise, but then I don't mind as I never wanted to look like Hulk Hogan.

Obviously that doesn't include eating junk...

Done very well until tonight, except for a stroopwafle (the thingys you put over your coffee that heats up the caramel and is ) and had one of those Tesco posh yoghurts

Put on one and a half stone in my first term at uni on a diet of beer and chips every night I managed to shift it during the summer break once I'd moved away from halls of residence prison food and have maintained the same weight, give or take a few lbs, for the past 16 years

Edited to add that I eat very well, drink far too much and exercise loads

I have lost almost 2 stone and kept it off whilst not changing what I eat at all. I cut out added sugar in tea, cut down on the booze, reduced portion size by about 10% and did more exercise (walking mostly). The weight loss took 18 months and has been stable (+/- 2lb) for about 9 months now.

I don't miss/crave anything as I have not cut out anything - just cut down.

Yep, I gave up beer (in favour of vodka or wine) & fags, started being selective with any food bought and consumed (ie 5% fat or less), and cycled in to work for about a year. I went from around 14 stone to around 10.5 stone in around six months! Fairly drastic but I felt so much better for it - 3 years on Im still around the 11 stone mark.

Its also a useful hint to chew your food really well - I mean like REALLY well...Its boring but you'll find your usual dinner will seem more filling and you'll have food left you cant eat.

Many blokes do this? Thought it would just be a room full of Marjory Doors types

I pretty much gave up beer after returning from a club 18-30 holiday six years ago (and still only drink occasionally)

I weigh around 20 stone at the moment, but have been up to 24 at one point. Lowest I have been since before I went to uni/stopped playing rugby is 18.5.

Aiming for 17 at the moment though!!

the missus did rosemary conely, which involves a workout once a week, and instruction on how to eat well without taking in fat.
basically, skip sauces on meals, very small amounts of potatoes, and fill up on big portions of veg.
dont fry, grill. throw away olive oil, fairly obvious stuff.

lost 2.5 stone so far and it takes no effort.

It's taken me the last 4 years or so but I hae successfully managed to put on 3.5 stone since leaving uni. I'm now very happy to have reached 11 stone for the first time ever.
