The subject says it all.

My instrument lights flicker. Just a little, but it's noticeable. They've just started doing it. The headlights don't.

What's the cause? Any ideas anyone?

On another note: Can you make the instrument lights brighter. I would check myself but not back to the UK until the 30th November.

Mine are too bright... annoingly so when peering through the gloom of a wet night !

Flickering could be a duff connection to the dash lamps, or a poor earth. First check would be to pop the dash cover panel and check the supply leads.

I understand the panel comes off after removing a pair of butterfly nuts from it`s underside.

Not to come across all doom and gloom but when mine did that the alternator proved to be going. Another symptom was the headlights were marginally brighter at higher revs.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

I'll study the headlight brightness at idle and compare to that when revved.

It's due in for a service in a few hundred miles, so hopefully if it is the alternator, it will last until then.

I've had a brand new alt on mine and the lights still get brighter when reved.
I thought it was normal as the volts at idle will be lower that at say 2k!

Quick reply from the technoboob - with the old S2 there was a definite correlation between revs and electrics. Once the alternator had been swapped on the cerbera I got constant beams.
Could be miles off, of course - just personal observations

Just for the record - I had the alternator replaced and all is fine now.

The flickering had been getting steadily worse so I suspect if nothing had been done the alternator would have finally given up the ghost.
