Ignition warning light

Before you do that check the Fuse Link.
I had my alternator stripped apart and was just going to order a new alternator, when Walldonway said check the fuse link.
It has got to be worth a try, the link only cost about £1.
It is under the car on the drivers side, near the starter motor.
Check that before anything else.

Nip the car to a decent Auto-electrician. They should be able to diagnose for you. If your lucky enough that it's a diode, then they should be able to fit a new one fairly cheaply. If not, then at least they'll give you a price for a recon unit (sit down for that one) or a new one (lie down for that one)!
