Is it possible in OSX to create a symbolic link to a network drive?

I have my iTunes folder on a AFP shared drive and I'd like to mount it so it appears in the Music directory in my home directory. Is this possible?

With the drive mounted you should be able to create the link via the Terminal. What will happen if you try and follow the link and the drive is not mounted might be interesting though...

It's simpler than that - simply connect to the drive on the network using Shift Command K (or Network from the Go menu in Finder), and once you log into it, if you need to, then an icon is placed on the desktop. It stays there ready for you to double click on it.
For iTunes to work, it'll need told that's the location for the files in your Library.
One word of warning though, play iTunes without the drive connected and it'll revert to the default location in Preferences. So, you'll need to redo the Prefs and quit, then relaunch iTunes before you'll be able to play the songs. Select Yes on the pop ups you get, if this happens.
