You know when you've done something realy stupid!
A few weeks ago I flatspotted the two nearside wheels on a trackday (must be made out of chocolate)

I stupidly agreed to the dealer changing them without asking how much, i just assumed £4-500 just like Porsche split rims . when I got the bill £1000 each.

Then all the threads on here came back to me, Dymags Etc.

Obviously Noble see the fact that the wheels are crap as a good oportunity to stiff the customers so be very very carefull!!!!!!!!!!

not round anymore, both wheels actually had a flat bit, but no visible damage and i've heard that i'm not the first person to do this.

Are you sure it's the wheels that are flat spotted and not just the tyres ?
I have flat spotted tyres before but never had any wheel problems.

Yes l was serious having done many track days and competed for 3 seasons in a Sprint series l have never had any wheel issues on a GT03.
I have had the problem on another car but that is due to the fact that the wheel is designed to flex and is considered part of the suspension, is this the case with a 3R/M400 wheel ?

The M12 wheels, like most 'road' wheels, are not strong to the level that serious kerbing will stand. However, in the 50+ track days I've only ever 'done in' one wheel and I knew I had an issue due to the way I hit the kerb.

Clearly if you track it seriously then a move to something like Paul Cundy has arranged is far more sensible, but if you are on 3R wheels there doesn't seem to be that much of an issue.

As for asking a garage to fix anything without asking the price, all I can say is caveat emperor - sorry

Great, nice to know I'm not the only one to have suffered this,
Fortunately, it only happened to me, in the context of a cassette player, left in 'play' position, and switched off at mains, flattening the rubber pinch wheel.

Never heard of it on a car before, must be a
new-fangled leg lifting exercise.

Ahem... I can vouch that 3R wheels don't like being kerbed.

That is, they don't like being slid sideways at 30mph up a 5" kerb anyway

Needed 4 new ones and there's a photo out there somewhere of the center section that broke off !
