Firstly I appologise for even mentioning throttle pots as they have been done to death on here. Just want to know how the throttle pot unclips? I dont want to force it off and do damage. Is there a knack to it?

If you mean detaching the wiring from it, there's a wire clip on the plug. You pull that out sideways and then the plug can be removed.

The pot itself is bolted to the plenum.

So when I order a new throttle pot it will be the whole unit thats bolted to the plenum. Its all starting to make more sense.

You can either order the TP which is a black platic item which simply bolts to the plenum as previously stated - a matter of 2 small bolts and just unlip the wiring connector from the old one and push into the new one - this worked for me recently however a lot of people reccomend changing the wiring loom also which needs to be purchased seperately - if buying from a Ford dealer they will ask you for a part number as apparently there are 2 types and they will not give you a refund for a wrongly oredered one.
