Did 993s ever come with Sat Nav fitted from Porsche? If so is it any good or rubbish?

Mine had a Becker Traffic Pro when i bought it (my 1996 993 C4S) but i think this was a later dealer fit rather than a factory fit.

And it's fantastic.

But you can easily put it in a 993 - its a standard size head unit, not a large screen one.

I've got a Tom Tom Go. Absolutely fantastic. Portable as well, so I managed to rescue it from my burning Ferrari (risking life and limb ) and now use it in the 993.

I had a '96 Turbo4 and that had factory fitted Porsche head unit with Nav linked to a Nokia surround sound system. All worked very well.... it's the same head unit that was factory fitted to my 996 GT2, you can upgrade it with the standard Becker CD's

even if it did, the actual technology would now be out of date and worthless

but there are examples with 4" screens

I've got a Pioneer Avic X1R fitted but you have to remove the centre air vents for the screen.
