Just heard on BBC news that a parrot in the UK has been confirmed as having avian flu.

A parrot in quarantine, which was sharing an area with a consignment from Taiwan.

A dead parrot (steps back, and waits for PH to run it's course)...

Nothing to worry about

Parrot was in a quarantine bio site and was destroyed with approx 100 other birds.

They aren't sure which strain of avian flu though.

They got an inkling when the bird started shouting "Polly wants some Beechams"

This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

Apparently, the effects of this bird flu thing aren't as bad as expected, it just makes you feel a little peckish that's all....

It made me laugh out loud when the newsreader said it was a parrot! It couldn't be any other soret of avian friend could it? No. It had to be a parrot. We can't even do pandemics without getting a laugh out of it!!

We have been trying to tell everyone how bad Man Flu is for years, all of a sudden bird flu turns up and we're all going to die
