crap for Elise,

just works with turbo engines (to up the boost pressure)
does not work with NA engines.

Agree completely. If you believe the hype about every performance mod, device etc, I am pretty sure you will get your elise producing 300bhp with bolt-ons alone. Add to that the petrol saving devices etc (remember the magnets on the fuel line etc), you should be able to produce fuel as you drive!

It would be nice if they worked though. The only argument for these sort of things is the placebo effect - you may "feel" like your car is faster. I always used to convince myself that my car was faster on 98 octane. Sadly the engine doesn't know the difference.

If it were that easy, every manufacturer would use them - they spend millions on trying to produce performance for reduced cost etc. £4.50 for 8-20 bhp - every car would have them as standard - would improve the specs etc!

Complete load of rubbish. I bought the exact one shown out of curiosity. All you get is a resistor (POWER MODULE!) and some very dodgy and vague fitment instuctions which are made to cover all cars. The "POWER MODULE" is just a resistor, no plug or connector to fit to the car just a couple of wire's out of the end! They suggest you fit it in the plug that connects to the Intake Air Temperature sensor but if there is not an IAT fitted to fit it to the plug onto the coolant temp sensor and leave the coolant sensor disconnected i.e as a direct replacement for the sensor!!! If fitted to the coolant sensor the resistor makes the ECU think the car is constantly running cold so the ECU enrichens the mixture supplying more fuel. In certain circumstances maybee the resistor would work and produce more BHP due to the richer fuel mixture on the flip side.... Possible catalyst damage, may turn MIL light on, rich mixture washes lubricating oil away from the bores causing premature wear, increased fuel consumption etc etc etc. God knows what damage could occur on some cars that have ECU switched cooling fans
I say spend the £5 on vacuming the car out "The weight saving will make your car go faster!" and the rest on some Autoglym to polish the bodywork "The smooth clean finish will increase the laminar flow over the boundary layer increasing downforce (better handling) and decrease drag (more MPG and faster)

I like Millermilla's advice on the vacuuming - currently a spring clean of the car might save me about 15kg of dirty golf shirts and dust etc. Should be a measureable gain. While I am about it I am aiming for a wash and polish - must reduce the drag coefficient buy at least 0.001%. Aside from this I am planning on going on a diet (tomorrow - at least thats what I have been saying for the last year or so)

All told this must give me far more than an equivalent 8 bhp. All for less than £4.50. (I will steal my neighbours car wax)

Plan to spend the £4.50 on beer at the pub. When I take the taxi home this will make my elise feel all the faster when I get back in it.

In other words save your monhey - this is a scam as you have unanimously heard.

I saw this ages ago for another car brand, how does this guy get so much positive feedback?

There must be loads of disappointed customers...

I totally agree with below!! Save your self a lot of heart ache and avoid it a fat bird with clap!!
the positive feed back will be from all the kids buying this crap in a attempt to prove some miss guided point that Corsa’s and the like are good cars by claiming gains in power!
Stick with legitimate tuning parts that cost more than a couple of pints!
