Hi guy's,

As the title says really.

I've set up my wireless network (thanks for the advice  ), I've mapped the drives so I can access between laptop and desktop - but I can't seem to access 'my documents' folder from either machine.

I've set up sharing between them - but still says I don't have permission to access them.

What am I not doing right to allow accessing of these  ??

Cheers in advance.

Chris

Can you not access any folders, or just not the mydocs folder specifically? What's the exact error you get?

next to the sharing tab there's a security tab. Make sure all the settings on there allow whatever access you need.

My Documents needs to be shared separately, right click on the My Documents folder and enable sharing.

If it's XP home, you need to enable the guest account. All security mapping is done through this account and if it's turned off then sharing doesn't quite work.

Then put the stuff you want in your shared documents folder, rather than in My Documents.

If that's not it, search on http://support.microsoft.com for how to "enable administrative shares" some viral activity turns them off.
