Hi all,
Recent strong winds ended the life of my trusty aussie car cover that's been protecting the black bitch from the steamy english weather! Any recommended locally sourced covers that i should look at? It's got to be secured in some way to avoid tempting CHAVS who might try & swap it for a slab of wife beater at the local! My last one had a handy loop that got fixed in the boot latch before covering the car. Any advice appreciated.

I used to use one from these lads on the Trans Am.

I don't bother now but can see the value of disguising something though.

I once had a very expensive custom made car cover, for £180. gave up using it in the end.

The local cats used to love it, and sit on it at night and claw it.

The runied cover I could live with, but it got to the point of scratches on the roof.

Do they make a cover which is cat repellent I wonder, short of wiring up 240v to the bugger.

Been after one of these for a while, tried the link above and they only offer a non tailored one for Commies( one size fits all kind of thing).
Does anyone have one of these on a Commodore and can they give me some feedback on what they are like. Really worried about it not fitting snug and marking the paint as it flaps about!

LSV have HSV/Monaro tailored covers for indoor & outdoor use.
Can't vouch for them as I haven't ever seen one. Should be up there next month & will check them out as I'm going to get a cover for this winter.

I know this company been mentioned before but I have been in contact with them and they have templates for just about every model owned by people on this forum(for a fully tailored cover+locks etc..) and were very helpful to me.

Just got Mark @ LSV to order me an outdoor, breathable, drivers door entry, with tie downs cover for £110 + VAT. LSV have fully tailored indoor/outdoor covers for Monaro's & Commodore's. Some are held in stock. Logo's available but I decided on plain.
Seems pretty cheap, I think he said there are made up locally.
Soon as I get it I'll report back.
Hadn't considered what my 3 cats will make of it!!!!

I have searched back and found this from the company Paul and I talked to at Goodwood Festival of speed.

uk_hsv quote/

Monday 27th June

as promised I spoke to the guys selling covers at Goodwood and after some negotiation they have quoted club members these prices.

indoor cover £93 less discount (25%) = £69.75
heavy duty waterproof cover £168 less discount (25%) = £126
lightweight outside cover £108 less discount (25%) = £78.75

prices inc VAT and delivery is £8.23

For options look at www.classicadditions.co.uk

the covers look and feel very good, and this offer is not a group purchase so one off's are the same price.........

To get the club rate please email me and I will send on your details just so we know you are active in the club.

ps. the patterns have been made so they are ready for sale.................. /quote

Thats great info, those all look pretty neat Dunc.
When you punch Monaro into their web selection guide, it pulls up the LL size one for £135 as opposed to the £168 list price on the main page??? It does not list VXR or HSV models and we may find we need the next size up? I think the bigger body kit on the HSV versions generally pushes you up a size with car covers, I reckon the std Munro one may be a bit tight for mine as when I had a VT Clubby, the std SS commodore one was too small too. I might have a chat to them today to clarify this.
