It's funny you should say that. That thought didn't occur to me, but there was a strange noise prior to him loosing the back, so it fits.
The thing that I sort of "felt" was that he was taking quite a bit of those kerbs. It looked like everyone else was too, by the tyre marks. They seemed a bit steep.
Perhaps his tyres had had enough of the kerbs.
I think that the moment of freakout for me was the car at 90 degrees to the road, going backwards.
How fast do we think that was? It wasn't slow, whatever.

Some sort of sound just before it goes - it has to be a failure or something on the road of some sort, his line was fine IMHO.
In the same vein at Spa. Apparently down to coolant on the exit of Eau Rouge.

Nothing like a good bit of banger racing eh!
I think the first chap (at the ring), though his accident was more serious, could be excused his faults compared with those two!

The original USA thread says he had a rear blow out. Looks like it to me.

crikey that noble crash made me feel a bit sick, looks like he knew his way around, agree with the funny noise just before the car let go. Roll seemed to happen in slow motion, good to see the driver swearing and cursing afterwards, shows he was ok right away .. always a good sign to see a driver swearing ater a crash.

No wonder he crashed, he was driving from the wrong side of the car - clue - it was a German Porsche GT3, not a Noble. No Noble I know of has flappy paddles.
On the Spa videos can anyone see any flags being waved to forewarn them of the coolant spill? Looks at least like some pretty poor marshalling may have contributed.

Just looked at the reference there - ex-b-r is the pseudonym a guy I know off the Honda forum, and that looked like a Prelude...bloody hell!

Just checked Honda-R, and yeah - it was Dave (ex-b-r), plus a dutchman on Honda-R, Ivo, also had some grief at the same spot (earlier???) and buggered the bodywork all down the LHS.
The 7-driver suffered broken ribs, believed to be from the wheel, not from the impact of the 'lude.
The Honda guys, while rather gutted, were OK.

The sun was very bright on the track surface and the huge coolant spillage was dumped after the marshalls post at the crest/left of Le Raidillon. There were no visible clues as to it's presents and by the time it was visible you were already fully commited to the racing line.
From coolant drop to Red flag I would estimate only 30-40 seconds or so all in.
I went through aprox 15-20 seconds before the Caterham and Dave and consider myself extremely fortunate to have not had a similar accident.
It was unbelievably slippery up there but I was lucky as it just so happened that my wheels ran just about either side of the majority of the drop fluids.
Once through it I backed out of it and decided I was going in until it had been cleared up...then the Reds came on.
Thankfully all concerned only have relatively minor injuries and for that you have to thank the fact that the whole thing happened on track in a very safe enviroment.

Nor does any GT3 I know of either
Well the camera doesnt lie, they are certainly there, but what they do? It is a Porsche from the inside trim?
He does seem to be changing gear with the gear lever?
