Could be indeed, tho set up is all important on Golfs & certainly many big power cars just dont seem to deliver the goods, but get it right & blimey track rocketships indeed- indeed as anyone who has seen the Reeves track Golfs circulating will testify- see the link;

(they were prob 100 or so bhp up on the ebay car tho, but number 9 & 19 were both only lowly 200bhp area N/A screamers tho, so it doesnt need boost to go very well indeed)

wow thats a great result considering the layout of the cicuit despite it raining. some bizare results though... there's over a 1 minute spread between fast and slow !
