Why do some people bother!?
Discussion
Went out for a play today in the 944 and ended up giving a C4S a right good pasting.
He joined the scene by hanging off the rear quater of the cars behind me in a queue until they drovein the gutter to allow him to make the poorest overtaking moves I've ever seen... If the oncoming traffic wasnt in the gutter as well he would have been wiped out. oh this on the A road between leamington and banbury...
I backed off to let him pass me, wanted as much distance between as as poss! Anyway we arrive in a huge line at a roundabout, it appears most of the cars are going left and since im going straight i took the right hand lane went all the way around the round about and came out in front of teh C4S with an empty road ahead.. I pressed on.. noting silly still well below 3 digits but this guy is trying to get in my boot on the straights and then vanishes backwards at the meer hint of a kink in the road!! and then we get the "bendy road for 1.5 miles" sign and that was it I thought he'd binned it because i didnt see him again until i was out of Banbury!
If it was you then I suggest you wait until your balls are big enough to borrow your dads car properly! or if it was your car can i suggest trading it in for something more suitable... a nice brown allegro should do the trick!

I am sorry but I wasn't 'that' close and yes you did leave me for dust. I ate humble pie and now I am saying sorry. You truly are fast though and should seriously consider racing. I was going as fast as is possible in a 4wd and naturally I had more grip than you because 4wd is awesome but you still drove away.

Do you think performance cars should only be for the most talented peddlers?
I apologise for stealing quotes from films but..
"With great power comes great responsibility"
..and I believe that that there is no where that that applies more than on the road. I wasnt critisising his lack of pace as much as his blatent disregard for his or other road users safety when attempting to overtake.
there's a reason they make you take more than one test to ride a fireblade these days and also why there is more than one class of HGV licence.
As I said even with my superior 4wd which gives me added grip and security just like an Audi rally car that powered its way to victory once I could not keep up.
How could you have got away from me though if I had 4wd? Surely nothing has more grip than a 4wd unless you have modified your car to 4wd and not told us.
The way it went around those corners it looked like a limpet so I guess you have?

No offence jjr1 but is this thread for real?
A formula one driver?
Its sounds to me that you really should be questioning your own ability to drive your car properly rather than trying to talk up someone else's driving skills to justify your lack of them.
Anyone with any ability to drive a car quickly knows that comparing driving skills on public roads does'nt really add up to much.I think there is a lesson to be lear'nt here for you and that is:
If you choose to race on public roads and you are made to look a dick by your lack of ability or common sense or even balls, keep it to yourself if you dont want to come across on this forum as a complete nob

Do I detect a touch of irony in JJR1's posts. Looking at his profile he appears to drive a 997 Carrera S. As far as I am aware the Carrera S is 2wd. Now unless he also has a 996C4S tucked up in his garage(lucky bugger)then I feel he may winding Shortshifter up just a tad.
There is in fact a Porsche 997 C4 and C4S now.

All I am saying is that he is one seriously fast driver who could probably beat most of the top cream of talent in F1.
I myself with my reasonable skills could only beat the bottom third of the grid but this lad was awesome.
To pull away from a 4wd shows that he is most likely wasting his talent on the road and should seriously be talking to F1 teams right now before it is too late.
perhaps whoever it was does not think its safe to race on the road on bends? perhaps he gave you space on the bends just in case you fell off the road and he didn't want to hit the aftermath.
Perhaps the driver feels safe using the speed on the streight and was enjoying following you. I dare say he could have overtook you but felt it too dangerous to pull off manouvers like that?
There may be many reasons why he drove the way he drove.
